the volume is easy to regulate. This doorbell basically configures itself. We "attached" ours to one of the metal and glass doors with tape. The metal doesn't seem to interfere with the signal between the transmitter and receiver. The instructions for pairing the transmitter with the receivers are clear. The configuration I ordered has two receivers, but I don't think I need both because one is loud enough to be heard in my 3,000 square feet. Feet, even on the opposite side of the house with interior doors closed. I didn't realize there were so many different ringtones to choose from because I didn't really read the product description before ordering. All in all, this is a pretty cool doorbell for a good price.
