A great bumper that will protect your expensive device

The following is available for purchase, so please bear with me. We originally bought an iPad Air (1st gen) for my 15 year old son. Initially, he was very enthusiastic about this device, but later found that he didn't use it as much as his iPhone. Shortly after buying the iPad, we had another child (now a five-year-old son). Our youngest, who grew up with used phones and gadgets, see them as nothing. My oldest, having not touched an iPad in over a year, decided to give his youngest his iPad. Even though the iPad is several years old, it's still an iPad (and in like-new condition). My older iPad had a magnetic screen protector that just wasn't suitable for a five-year-old. So we researched the best iPad bumper cases for kids and came across the HDE bumper case for iPad Air. We ultimately chose to do this for a number of reasons (which I will discuss below); and we're glad we did. Please read on. Pros: Perfect for iPad Air (1st generation). The cutouts (for charging ports, cameras, speakers, etc.) are well countersunk (i.e. deep enough to protect ports etc., but not so deep as to interfere with iPad use) and precisely aligned. It is noteworthy that the charging port is not closed. Some may consider this a so-and-so problem (or even a scam since it leaves the port open to elements); However, I consider him a pro. This is based on the fact that all other similar bumpers I've reviewed had reviews that said the same thing ie "Charge port cover damaged my lightning cable". I constantly teach my son to use his devices responsibly. I'm not that concerned about an open charge port (especially since the port is nicely recessed into the case) as I am concerned about having to replace lightning cable after lightning cable which can be very expensive. So definitely a plus for me. The case is really shockproof. My son has accidentally dropped an iPad on our hardwood floors and carpets a few times, which always makes me cringe, and I had a briefing right after. However, upon inspection, the iPad is always in perfect condition - undamaged and intact (dropped from around 2.5 feet). The foam is thick, durable and lightweight (which is great for little ones as the iPad is heavy at first). The case consists of two parts: a hard, durable shell (with a built-in screen protector) that covers the front of the iPad, and a soft, rubberized foam bumper that the hard shell slides into (with the iPad in the case). . it) inserts. The case has a built in bracket and bracket/stand combination. That's a definite plus, as portability (the ease with which his little hands can grip an iPad safely and securely) and ease of use were key factors. He can grab the handle (which is very durable) and fold his arm back to look at the iPad (landscape) hands-free on a flat, level surface. The way the folding arm attaches to the bumper body seems well done, judging from some reasonably forced test jerks and my son turning the iPad around as he walks (which in turn sparks conversations with him). The screen protector works great (see general comments) and offers more than enough touch sensitivity and visibility. Unlike other reviewers, neither my son nor I had any issues with responsiveness or the home button's usability with an iPad in a case. Conversely, the home and other buttons/switches work quite well. Finally, while the hard shell is difficult to fit into the foam bumper, it should hold the iPad in place; So you have to be careful when installing - the iPad fits perfectly and snugly to the foam bumper. As one would expect from such a case, the iPad doesn't move at all when dragged from point a to point b in small hands. Cons: I am very picky about products. I try everything I can to find faults with a product as I want other reviewers to do this if I read their reviews while considering a purchase. I can't find anything wrong with the bumper (at least for the moment). The instructions were adequate (despite the fact that they were clearly copied at low resolution onto a standard 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper). Although the instructions indicated the need to remove and discard the black portion of the mold (and remove the inner blue screen protector), they did not indicate the need to remove the outer screen protector once installation was complete. . A small oversight, but it may cause problems for some users if they forget to do this (see General Comments). General Notes: There are two plastic protective sheets on top of the screen protector (probably to ensure the screen protector is not damaged in transit). or during handling) - the outer transparent film and the bluish film on the inside of the protective film. Some reviewers have noted that the screen protector has a blue cast when looking at their iPad through the screen protector. You probably forgot to remove the inner blue foil. That's understandable: a) he really got stuck there; and b) it almost feels like you shouldn't remove the film as it's perfectly tailored to fit the inside of the screen. There is also a black plastic element (mold) that matches the screen protector. I was initially amazed at the purpose it serves (but lo and behold after reading the instructions) the mold is simply there to protect the mold of the screen protector and foam case during transport and handling and must be discarded afterwards. FWIW, HDE have gone to great lengths to ensure the bumper etc arrives to you in perfect condition. It's really well protected, from the outer box to the inner box. If you already have a screen protector on your iPad - we made this for my eldest son and kept it a) because it was expensive b) it was still in great condition and c) the bumper doesn't last forever (so we got another screen protector Screen protector is needed if we remove the one already on it - there will be bubbles between the screen protector and the iPad screen. It wasn't a big deal for me to watch YouTube for kids and play its educational apps.Other people with similar settings might be wondering why bubbles form, which is normal when you have a smooth HD screen protector in direct contact with a plastic screen protector Please note that my screenshots are intentionally pixelated in this case as my son's wallpaper is a Photo of him is and his mother. After you remove both films protecting the HDE screen, the picture is perfect. E A final general comment: my son wanted green protector we bought. While the green looks dark on the product page (I wasn't a big fan of the color). I was pleasantly surprised when the item arrived and found the green color to be more vibrant. My son was happy too. Buy recommendation?: Short and sweet, absolutely. I consider this a five star purchase (and one I don't give away often) that will protect your expensive iPad from scratches, bumps, cracks and breakage. If I have reason to change my rating in the future, I will do so as soon as possible. Until then, best regards.
