It's not good (updated review)

UPDATE: After using this charger I found that it is actually very slow. Much slower compared to other chargers. I usually charge my phone overnight and that's fine. But last night I forgot to charge my phone and when I woke up I found it was running low. I charge my phone for hours and it's still under 50%. With any other charger, it would have been fully charged long ago. I also noticed that it doesn't connect to my phone that easily. When the magnet is on it stays in place as I said in my original review. But dressing is a problem for me. I guess it didn't happen the first few times I tried to use it, but now every time I take it off and try to put it back on I have to find the exact perfect spot to put it on. and it's pretty excruciating. I have another magnet in my car similar to this one that almost pulls my phone towards it. I think I noticed a difference after using this. Anyway, I'm really disappointed with this product and probably won't be using it again. I will leave my first review below as some points are pertinent. But I had to deduct a few stars because I realized it wasn't great. I don't recommend it.———————————————————————— I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max, without a case. I used this on my phone and it works as expected; it charges my phone. Hooray! I can use my phone while charging and the magnet doesn't move at all. As you can see from my photos, I have it on my phone right now. I used my son's iPhone 11 to take the photo. I also tried using a magnet on my son's phone but it wouldn't stick. Not sure if it's because of the phone itself or because it actually has a case. But it doesn't matter because I have it to myself anyway. I need more and more chargers. Most chargers in my house don't last long; they break, they get lost and I also have to share them with my son (he is 13 and not very careful with such things). Now that I have this one and know it works, I was able to give my son one of my other charging cables. And he can't take that away from me as it only works with my phone (as far as we know) and that's definitely a plus for me. I can't say if it will hold up or not as I haven't had it long. But for now it works quite well. If anything changes I will update my review. I hope this lasts for a while. Only time can tell. I'm glad it comes with a USB-C mount because I have a wall plug with multiple USB ports and it's perfect for me. It's also small and handy to take with you if you need to take it everywhere (especially if you have a small carrying case that doesn't come with it, but I have several of those). Haven't tried it in the car as I already have a similar item for the car (with a clip to attach to the air vent so you don't have to hold your phone while driving) but I imagine it would work also in the car, like a normal iPhone charging cable. I usually like to charge my phone at night while I sleep and this one makes it easy for me to do that. I just plug in my phone and put it on the bedside table. So it's always on hand when I need it and when I wake up it's fully charged. If you need to charge it during the day, you can do that too. And you can use your phone while charging. The magnet on the back doesn't bother using the phone at all. And it's a pretty strong magnet. I ran a series of tests and it stayed in place. So this is a great feature. I would have liked it a bit more if the cord was a bit longer, but luckily I have the plug very close to my bed so that's not a problem. With all of that, I like the name of the product. a little misleading. This is not wireless charging. It has a cord and needs to be plugged into the wall (or at least a USB socket). That means you have to be close to the plug for it to work. For me, being wireless means I can take it anywhere and not have to be tied to anything. I mean yeah I guess the cable doesn't connect directly to your phone but that doesn't change the fact that I'm still connected to the wall while the phone is charging. I deducted a star for that. I may be wrong, but I would expect that something labeled "wireless" would not require a cable to be plugged into the wall. As an example, I have a small wireless charging keychain. The way this works is that I charge the key fob by plugging it in until it's full. When it's fully charged, I can carry it around on my keychain. Then, if I'm in a location that doesn't have a plug and/or I don't have my charger with me, I can just use the wireless charger keychain that comes with parts already attached to connect directly my phone and various other devices. I don't have to plug it in when I charge it because it's already charged. And it requires no cables or devices. So it really is a wireless charger. This product is not like that at all; it requires a cable and connector to connect it. Yes, the cable is included, but that's not the point. I just think calling it a wireless charger is wrong. If I'm wrong about that, I'm sorry. I only felt it important to mention because I expect "wireless" to mean I don't have to be near the plug for it to work. I definitely don't hate the product. Overall I think it's still a good product and worth buying. I just think it would be more accurate if they didn't call it a wireless charger. As long as you know what you're getting (a charger that works, but only when plugged in) I'd recommend it. I will use it regularly as before and leave it by the bed at night to charge. One last thing I'll add so I can end on a positive note. It's very easy to use. You literally just take it out of the box, plug it in, attach a magnet to your phone and it starts charging right away. It couldn't be easier.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • No paint needed
