Review on 🐱 FELIWAY Classic Calming Diffuser Refill: A Stress-Free Solution for Anxious Cats by Andrea Washington

I love this product for what it has done for my cat. She is calm and no longer afraid of her own shadow! How that affected me and my family, however, is another story. It was recommended to me by my vet and he was told it was a feline pheromone only and would not affect humans. He was half right. The problem is how pheromones are released into the air. It uses isoparaffinic hydrocarbons. OK, so what? They are used in all sorts of things. BUT, with this product they heat up and dissolve in the air. For me and my family, it caused loss of appetite, nausea, fatigue, headaches, dizziness, intoxication, blurred vision, muscle weakness, and lack of coordination. It started very slowly over the course of a week until after 2 weeks it became a full blown disease for us. I thought maybe we had the flu or something. But after more than a week we were no better. I finally realized that leaving the house during the day improved our symptoms. I did some research and found that isoparaffinic hydrocarbons are "probably" safe for humans, but they can cause all of the symptoms listed above in people with sensitivity issues. I still love this product but cannot have it at home due to the problem we are having. I hope my review helps someone else who is experiencing these symptoms find out they are not going crazy and it is just isoparaffin hydrocarbons.
