I had a Surface Pen that cost about $100 even though I paid about $80 for a refurbished pen, but someone stepped on it and broke it. I looked for cheaper alternatives and was a little hesitant to use this pen, fearing it wouldn't work as well or be as accurate. In fact, I prefer this pen a lot more! To erase something, flip the pen over with a surface pen and use the back like an eraser on a pencil. However, because the back end is bulky, it's not very accurate. With this pen, you use the same precision to erase, but simply hold down the side button, making work a lot easier. If I ever need a replacement I will settle for this pen! I also like that it comes with a different size pen tip while the surface pen has to be purchased separately.
