When the heart rate chest strap on my Garmin Edge 800 broke I tried replacing the battery but that wasn't the problem. The original Garmin replacement for the Ant+ chest transmitter is quite expensive and I've never found the chest strap very comfortable, so I looked for alternatives. This CooSpo strap is much more comfortable and syncs perfectly with my Garmin Edge 800. It picks up my heartbeat easily and doesn't seem too fussy about fitting my arm. I've compared it to my Garmin 235 HRM wrist watch and they don't usually exceed 1 BPM. The internal battery charges quickly and lasts quite a long time. I used it on 5 hour bike rides and judging by the charge time it used very little battery capacity. Of course, as this internal battery wears out over time it will likely become irreplaceable and the entire unit will be thrown in the trash, hence the deduction of a star.
