I understand that this is a beginner machine what I am. I'm not the type to hand sew much other than a button. The machine is CHEAPLY made, the spool cover doesn't stay on the machine, runs on 4 AA batteries with an adapter and a cheap plastic pedal if you decide to use a button other than the power button on the machine. I bought it assuming it could handle the simple hemming of the blue jeans I bought (a $60,000+ machine I figured would handle it), the motor stopped after 1-2 stitches stand in the material. In my opinion the car is not worth 30β¬. I sent it back for a refund and bought a BROTHER #3817 to replace for almost the same $$
