They stay! for coat and towel hooks
Used these hooks to organize my kitchen when we moved into a new house (for two). Since the house was smaller than our previous house, I tried to get creative with the kitchen storage. I used hooks to hang items in closet doors and they worked really well. We have lived in the house for over 3 years and all the hooks are there. I always make sure to let them sit overnight before hanging anything on the hooks as directed and have had no problems. I've never had to remove hooks so I can't comment on that.
