These were my favorite bonnet pins until I finally bit the bullet and bought some great Sparco bonnet pins with retainer. The problem with Specter hood pins is that the small cross pin is weak and tends to rattle. Cross pins almost always bend or shear when a race car is involved in an accident. Once the cross pin bends even a little, the locking ring is no longer doing its job and it's only a matter of time before it settles on the rail. These pins are so cheap I just bought more and lived with them for a while but ended up trying about 10 sets of these suction cups in 6 years of racing. I still have a lot of real hood pins and small plates but when I had less than 4 cross pins I decided to look for another solution. I still have a few sets of these pins in case the Sparco fashion set ever gets damaged!
