The Twisted women's tennis shoes were the perfect solution for what I wanted when traveling and didn't want to carry a 1/2 ton tennis/athletic shoe with me or on my feet when flying. They are perfect for that. I didn't have any of the issues that other reviewers have mentioned. The inner soul stayed in place flawlessly, which seemed to be its biggest complaint. The only reason I gave this 4 stars is because the distance between the lacing point and the soul was very small and my foot didn't go into the shoe very easily. (maybe I just have a too high arch, but I've never had a problem like this). I did an internet search which told me that canvas shoes should be gently turned back and forth and up and down in my hands, which I did. This loosened up the shoe a lot and immediately made it more comfortable. I still struggled with not having enough space between the top and the showers. My ongoing research has suggested placing jars in shoes and leaving them overnight. The soup can was very thick, but I put it in and let it sit for 30 hours. The difference was amazing. They turned out to be much more comfortable and roomy in the area of my arch. Since I wore them during the day, I knew I wouldn't wear them for a few days, so I put full cans of soup back in my shoes and left them again for a few days until I felt like wearing shoes again. Now they are perfect! A simple solution to make shoes feel like they were made for you.
