I have an old Canon EOS Rebel XT DSL camera that uses Compact Flash cards for data storage. I needed a new compact flash card reader because I had left and lost my old one in a hotel room while traveling. So I found this on Revain and it seemed to help. Boy was I ever wrong. This little thing might be fine for all other functions with other data cards that don't use pins for connection, like SD or micro SD cards etc, but with compact flash cards it's a complete disaster. I gently inserted my card into the reader and the first time the card entered it went in smoothly and I was satisfied. However the second time I tried to insert the card it wouldn't go in or sit properly on the pins and what happened was this thing was so flimsy that the rails that the card was supposed to move on, while you were inserting the card Cards came loose from the reader case they were supposed to be attached to and as a result the connector pins were bent and broken when I was inserting my card into the reader. I didn't touch it at all and didn't force the card into the slot - the rails just came loose when I inserted the card and there were problems. So no, I cannot recommend this card reader to anyone using any type of compact flash card.
