Review on ๐Ÿ Melissa & Doug Pineapple Soft Stacker Infant Toy with Multi-Sensory Features by Jennifer Dunn

Adorable pineapple toy but not very safe

This pineapple is so adorable! We were in love even before he came to our house and even named him after a dear friend who loves pineapples. You can't help but smile every time you see the centerpiece with a face on it. The art and design is five stars as we would expect from Melissa and Doug. This toy has everything you need to make a great children's toy: each element offers a different sensory experience and each piece of pineapple makes a slightly different sound. and have a distinct texture. Most discs are soft, but one is hard plastic. Some items are reminiscent of some dog toys due to their folding. So if you live with dogs and young children in the same household, you can be sure that they are only used by the intended person. That should do for a while. There are colored areas at the top and bottom of each piece to indicate the 'correct' way of stacking, but you can of course stack them any way you see fit. Unfortunately this did not happen. Not much for us as the stacking feature doesn't quite work when all the pieces are used. Each piece is beautifully filled, but that extra height means the top of the pineapple will never rest securely on the stack because everything is too tall and she likes to swing. The center post probably should have been a half inch or an inch taller; In its current form, the topper has a hole, but the needle doesn't actually fit in, which can be frustrating to store (and possibly for toddlers who are still developing their motor skills). It's still a great toy, cute and reliable. will be built and will bring hours of entertainment into someone's life. (And when it grows up, adults can use it as the world's most entertaining Tower of Hanoi playset.) (Perhaps our early version was made with a slight twist, unless other reviews point out the same issue - or if you don't bother stacking the pieces safely as you suspect all pieces are mostly played separately - this might be five stars for you!)
