Awkward to mount, best in wall fans

I live in the desert so I only use it for cooling. If you use it to circulate warm air in winter, you probably have a different installation angle. I mounted the fan high and then angled the fan down just above the work area. It definitely makes a difference on a 112 degree day. The fan is a bit loud on high settings, but not overly loud. The 20 inch wall fan is very well built (minus the mounting hardware - see below) to almost commercial standards. It is well packaged, no parts are missing. We have 12" side panels and I wanted the fan to be mounted high. The bracket is U-shaped, meaning if you want left-right orientation, mount the bracket vertically. If you need up-down adjustment , install the bracket horizontally, I wanted the fan to blow down so I installed it horizontally, I was working with an 8ft ladder and it's quite awkward to keep the fan assembly in place properly, while installing the latch mounting screw.I decided the only option was to remove the fan assembly from the bracket and then reattach it after the bracket was secure in place. When you remove the fan from the bracket the fan brackets remain Fan out of place on the bracket was incredibly uncomfortable five-piece fasteners on the side while on top of the kick t ladder stood. I ended up disassembling the fan assembly, removing the front grille and installing longer carriage bolts that could be securely fastened before climbing the stairs. The bracket attachment assembly is complicated and consists of too many parts. The installation took longer than it should. I'm an experienced builder with professional tools and I was still having trouble with the installation. They need to be redesigned. Once fitted the fan works very well and is just what we needed in a shop.

Pros
  • As everything before
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
