The canister has a nice soft rubber ring that seals and helps keep my coffee fresh. It holds about a pound and a half so an empty bag will hold a full pound and there is plenty of room at the top. Don't worry about overflow. The shovel is the perfect size and made of beautiful, durable metal. However, it's too long to hold when full and there's no "holder" on the side to hold it, but I consider it a minor inconvenience (-1 star in the Ease of Use category). The handle is long enough to reach the last scoop from the bottom of the can without putting your hand inside. The clip closure is fairly flimsy but strong metal that won't bend when the canister is closed/sealed. So it feels solid and is great for everyday use with an expected lifespan of many years. I also ran it in the dishwasher once and the seal still held tight after drying. 9/10 I would buy again.
