Review on LIHIT LAB Triple Zipper Pen Case by Shantel Griffin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Plenty of room for a variety of supplies, stain resistant, but materials limit capacity

2020 Edit: Black version I originally bought in 2017 checked, still using, looks great, zippers are awesome. The blue one I bought in April 2019 just broke: one of the zipper heads fell off. Although I can still use it, there seems to be a difference in quality between the black logo versions and the red logo versions. YMMV.Pros: * Plenty of storage space for different sized items * Flat design (as opposed to the tubular design of many pencil cases/pencil cases) * Stain-resistant material is easy to clean * Can be used for a variety of materials: medicine, tools, art, food, Dishes, toiletries * Zippers open Cons: * Materials used to make pockets and flaps limit storage options * Interior color matte , what will it be. I bought the black version with brown lining. The brown is lighter and darker than it appears online (dirt rather than leather I think) and I wish it was a little lighter, but it's not bad. The material is somewhere between canvas and vinyl and looks very nice. It appears to be stain resistant (rolled it outside and on my dog) and washes up easily. The flat design makes it easier to fit in messenger bags and briefcases or other flat tote bags than its rounder cousins. The flat shape and zip covering 3 out of 4 sides make the bag flat when fully open, which is particularly useful. Zippers are thin and slick and not easy to grip with large, wet, or arthritic fingers. I would prefer traditional round zippers for just about any storage, but especially when used as art or medical items. Plenty of pockets and storage options, however the pocket edge does not stretch and the mesh only stretches slightly. It is inconvenient to store things of non-standard sizes in pockets. In addition, the middle flap, which serves as a room divider, also serves as storage space. This becomes a problem due to the lack of stretch; Stuffing both sides of this flap causes a significant flexing of the stiffening material that makes up the flap (see photo). These pockets appear to be designed to hold mostly thin flat items such as stickers, paperclips, lead, school erasers, etc. In my test, I put in a Staedtler eraser, a plastic eraser, a roll of washi tape, and a cheap school eraser. these bags, with a set of Copic markers on the other side. There was a noticeable flex in the center flap that warned me not to put anything else or anything else in these pockets. This limits the effectiveness of this product for many artistic (or other) uses. If the pocket edges were more elastic and the flap stiffer, that wouldn't be a problem. The middle flap pocket is not rectangular either, but a rectangle with rounded corners. This results in the left and right sides of the hatch having shorter vertical storage space than the center of the hatch, so what can be carried there is definitely limited. I could only place 5 Copic markers; The 6th would stick out and disrupt the conclusion of the case. See my photo; I only have 5 in it but you can see in the photo below [left side of bag in upright position] that the curvature of the bag doesn't allow for more. Outside pockets are best for small flat items you win. doesn't matter if they get lost. When they were packed I couldn't fit anything essential in these pockets and since they don't stretch I would still take care to put anything that isn't flat in there so as not to damage or stretch the seams of the pockets. . However, if I were to use it as a desktop storage bag (as opposed to a travel bag), these would be great pockets for storing erasers, small rulers, or notes. Overall a good little storage box for the price. I hope this review helps someone else!
