All different styles are fun. I haven't used the timer yet because it seems like there is a 6 hour minimum that you can set and I don't have a 6 hour period that I want the light on. My only agreement is that I don't see any difference between bright and dark light. It just doesn't change. I bought two lamps and tried both remotes and both were the same. There is no contrast. I've decided the light is enough at one brightness so I'm keeping both sets rather than returning them. I really like the remote control idea because I would have to fetch and use the ladder every time I wanted to turn it on or off if I didn't have a remote.
