So far, so good. on Furniture

Despite many reviews stating this item breaks under weight, I decided to purchase anyway as my almost 2 year old is the main protagonist users should play (she only weighs 26 pounds). We love this 13 inch step. We tried several other steps and none of them helped our little girl brush her teeth on her own like her big brother does. As you can see from the photo, most standard stools are no higher than other stools we have. it's actually the same height as some two-tier high chairs. Who makes this stuff for kids? Don't they know how small and independent they are? My almost 4 year old is barely tall enough to use our shorter one pictured. Anyway, I'm very happy with the growth. our little baby can do something he likes by himself. I'm worried she'll try to open the stool herself to set it up, I'm waiting for her to pinch a few fingers. but everything is plastic so I don't think it would be bad if that happened. I'll update if anything comes up. :) ----- Update One year later: We now have 4 of these stools of different heights and they are amazing. My daughter is now almost 3 years old, she sets up (and removes) the stool herself and hasn't gotten her fingers caught. I think as long as you remind them to be careful and show them how to do it you shouldn't have any problems. My two children have not been injured with either of them in a year. Not sure what the other reviewers are doing wrong that they have so many negative reports of injuries.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
