Bought five of these sensors. I set up each of these once in the Smart Life app (which is a little tricky but not terrible once you get the hang of it). I tested one in a cup of water and it beeped - about as loud as a microwave - and an alert popped up in the Smart Life app. A quiet beep isn't ideal, but I found app notifications more important, so I placed all five sensors around the house. Basement, first and second floor. I tested all five today and all of them beeped, but NONE of them displayed an alert in the app (including the one that's only 15 feet from our wifi router). I will return them because they don't do what I need, which is to alert me when water is detected.
