Review on ☕ 1Zpresso JX-PRO Silver Capacity 35g Manual Coffee Grinder - Stainless Steel Conical Burr, Numernal Adjustable Setting, Portable Mill for Faster Grinding Efficiency - Espresso to Coarse by Brian Samaiyar

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Instructions unclear, works great

Firstly I didn't understand that for a coarser grind you have to turn the disc up to 360 turns which is 1 full turn. The marks and notches are for fine tuning after you get the number of full turns you need for your roughness. Okay on to the grinder - I don't think you can get a better grinder for the price. It seems almost absurdly well made and very precisely fitted. The whole structure is very strong and rigid, so the central axis does not move one iota, which can lead to uneven grinding. All of the bearings and bushings are of high quality, and without coffee, it spins very smoothly with almost no effort. Even the wooden handle has its own bearing-loaded bushing to minimize any drag. All the important parts are well made and work as you can realistically expect. There are just a few small details that could be improved that I feel are present on more expensive models. First, the catch cup can come loose if it's not tight, but if you buy one of the more expensive models they have a magnetic mount with a quick-release twist that solves this problem. and again in some other models they offer a coating to solve this problem, especially for unwashed beans with a lot of oil. Very fine espresso/Turkish coffee takes a long time to grind. I would honestly say that if you want to grind your espresso regularly, I would definitely get an electric coffee grinder. Once you get to a coarser grind, say for a conical pot and coarser, the grind time speeds up dramatically. This problem can hardly be solved with a manual coffee grinder. Maybe buy a slow drill with a hex bit so you don't get tired. :P The perfectly round body is difficult to hold and easily rotates if you don't hold onto it. Luckily they have a silicone sleeve, but perhaps the rounded hex section could add extra leverage for the hand. In general I am very happy with them.

Pros
  • I'm holding my fists
Cons
  • Hard to tell
