I've tried different sizes and shapes of plastic fridge organizers and these are the first drawer units. It is definitely more convenient to open the container than to remove the lid completely. However, these boxes are quite short, making them unsuitable for a variety of products. I am currently using these snack boxes for cheese and cheese sticks. They're also big enough for something like jalapenos or berries. Not big enough for apples or oranges! I mistakenly thought it was a set of 2 stackable boxes. It's actually a single block with 2 drawers inside.
