I bought this set to "fill in the gaps" on my stone wall which only had 6 stones. They appear to be as strong as the originals, but in fact young children find them easier to grab/climb/step on. , which is too small for a T-nut. You must use a 5/16" pilot hole (at least on the T-slot side). Additional tools (except a pre-hole drill). It would be nice if the included screws were standard Phillips or hex head screws to a screwdriver and/or socket wrench could be used to tighten. On some stones the hex key touched the stone when turning so I had to turn the hex key to the larger side which made it difficult to hand tighten, although that's just my preference so 5 stars anyway.
