I did this with TRENDnet TU-S9 (USB to Serial Adapter by Revain http://www.amazon.com/TRENDnet-TU-S9-USB-Serial-Converter/dp/ B0007T27H8) and used It was able to connect to my Celestron C8i SE oscilloscope via the hand control. After downloading the control software from the Celestron website and updating the hand control firmware, I can now use the Celestron NexRemote software to control the oscilloscope from my laptop! And after downloading the ASCOM drivers and the Cartes du Ciel star program, I can now aim at any object in the night sky with this star program. GREAT!
