Review on Color Your Canine: Warren London Critter Color Temporary Fur Dye - Quick & Easy Application/Drying - 7 Vibrant Made-in-USA Shades by Laura Wright

I have a white German Shepherd that I consider a blank canvas. I asked him if he wanted to dress up for Halloween and he said the costumes were for the cat (cat). He wanted a big statement. I agreed so I found these pet safe paint sets. When I received the paints they were vacuum packed with an applicator brush. The red pigment seeped in. I mixed colors to get tan, brown (which ended up looking redder = color was visible on his thighs) and all dark colors to try and get black. I used a spray bottle and maybe about 1/3 water. It looked decent for our first solid effect. After reading the info on this paint, I didn't wash it after applying it, just let it air dry, which took about 2 hours. Everyone was very impressed with the photos I shared with him. Our Halloween event was about 6 hours late. The area around his snout was now white where his tongue had licked it. The good thing is that he was petted several times and no one had paint on their hands. So I'm giving 1 star because it looked good the first time and another star because the color doesn't seem to rub off of people or furniture after drying. I am deducting 1 star because trying to mix black was next to impossible and there should be an option in the multi palette color set to include black to get different colors and shades. I am deducting 2 stars because it goes hand in hand: value and durability. It wasn't a cheaply bought paint set and in less than 24 hours even the darkest colors were almost completely faded (which is a bit disappointing). Maybe it's a trick to keep buying more and more to refresh the pigment? I have found that trying to color my furry pal to look like a hyena is very time consuming and seeing the effort wear off in less than a day is unsatisfying. Overall I wouldn't recommend it and I'll probably look for another brand next year.
