It worked well. I had to apply multiple coats, blending and blending and blending to get the smoothness I wanted, but it worked. I wet the makeup sponge, squeezed out the excess, then dipped in the cake makeup and then applied. It was IMMEDIATELY washed off with soap and water. I bought GREEN for my Medusa/Poison Ivy/Whatever costume for Halloween. I didn't give 5 stars because I would have preferred more full coverage with no layering and layering. Also, after a few hours, my green makeup became very blotchy.
