I use acrylic paints (with a clear plaster base coat) to paint this gingerbread house. I didn't buy it to paint with colored pencils. I want it to look nice for Christmas and a gesso primer makes the colors easy to apply. So far my kids haven't seen or touched it, but even holding it in my hands, I can say that the first day they play with it, they will collapse and destroy it. If your kids are calm and cute, a cardboard playhouse can last for several weeks. i have wild ones
