I bought this backpack to take with me on business trips. It may seem strange, but as a woman, I don't like carrying a separate bag and laptop bag with me. It's double the safety effort and tires my shoulders as they usually only have one grip. I really wanted to try the backpack. My requirements were that it should be light and stylish enough, have a padded pocket for my laptop and be able to function as a wallet. This backpack is 100% compliant. The laptop sleeve fits my 15" Dell laptop perfectly. I should note that the case is not TSA approved, so some (but not all) airports still require you to remove your laptop from the backpack to go through security I love all the pockets and the main compartment easily fits all my computer gear, two books, a jacket, snacks and an extra pair of flats. That's a lot! He never felt uncomfortable or overwhelmed. This backpack really is just perfect and contains many pleasant surprises. It is definitely authentic and if you are thinking of buying one I don't think you will regret it! One complaint I saw in other reviews was that the front zip was difficult to open. I agree admit that it's a bit more difficult to move than other zippers (mainly because of the fabric flap that closes it), but I felt ta actually a little safer. The fact that it takes a little more effort to move it actually means I'm more likely to notice someone trying to steal it.
