Looks and feels like a quality cable that is worth the money, but so far my Quest has worked with my VR enabled MSI laptop (Nvidia 1070 card ) tied together. The PC-Oculus software connection test failed. All software and drivers are up to date. I was still able to launch the Oculus PC software and see the VR room, but just looking around there was lag and graphical artifacts, and it was every 10-15 seconds interrupted. I've tried plugging USB-C into my MSI the other way around (which obviously shouldn't even be necessary), same results. I guess I have no choice but to buy a ridiculously expensive but probably working Oculus Link cable.
