I have an old engine powered welding generator that is great for arc welding and nothing more. I also wanted to make him a TIG welder. This torch setup worked great. All I did was run an argon line to the adapter, connect the stinger wire to the negative terminal, bite the electrode holder into the adapter (no need to screw it anywhere or buy new connectors with this method), then use ground. associated with the plus as usual. Just turn on the gas, touch the electrode to the metal, the motor revs up and you have a good arc on the TIG torch. I ran it between 60 and 120 amps for about an hour and the burner barely got warm, certainly not hot. I should have gotten this setup years ago. The flexible head flexes very easily and I'm glad I spent a few bucks more for this feature. The gas valve is also smooth, no problems. First, don't get hung up on the free gift - I didn't get one either! No problem, I am very happy with this purchase.
