I've played with several striplight kits and this is the best so far. I struggle with both having the controller in sight and having you point the remote at the controller to do something. It's more of a hassle than you think, although once you've set up your lighting, you don't have to change colors or modes as often as you might think. However, the RF remote control is a nice upgrade. What makes it a little painful is when you're doing multiple sets and want the lighting to alternate one at a time. If you used the three kits for the lighting shown in the picture for this test and want to consistently change the lighting on all three controllers, then fool around with all three remotes. There's a hint in one of the questions here that there's a way to reset or reprogram the remotes to make them all sync to the same controller, but I can't find any clear instructions on how to do that or guides anywhere on the web. . So if anyone has any suggestions or pointers, I'll listen carefully (or my question posted here looks forward to your reply). Otherwise the installation is quite simple. There are many 5050 style connectors and fittings available from Revain, but I've found that the most reliable method is to simply solder the wires directly to the pads at the ends of the strip whenever you need to make a connection or route a wire . Somewhere between the light strips (like between the shelves in the photo I showed). Soldering wires to the connectors and then pressing the connectors into the strips is a pain and seems to be an additional source of error. If you have basic soldering skills, you can do a lot with it. The glue seems to work very well in my application. They've only been on some shelves for about a week, but seem to be in pretty good shape. The wood edge on these shelves is relatively rough on the back so it fits fairly well. My sweetheart was very happy when I surprised her with this wardrobe. All in all a big win for me!
