This material may be considered heavy for a t-shirt, but in my opinion it's more of a medium weight material, soft and comfortable to the touch and feel. I don't like that brand label on the pocket, I would advise matching the color of the label to the color of the shirt so that it harmonises better, the white label on the black shirt sticks out too much. The shirt is well sewn, all seams are tight, the size corresponds to the clothing size. It can be worn alone or under a sweater to add layers. It washes well too, I just put it in the dryer for 10 minutes and let it air dry completely with no fading, no pilling and looking new. This shirt is of excellent quality and worthy of a gift.
