This is a sturdy, well made mini wood stove that doubles as a camp stove in a pinch. I used mine for the first time today with mixed results. I think the efficiency of this stove depends on the dryness and calorific value of your fuel. I burned over a year old 2x4 douglas fir cuts from construction that were pretty dry. I had no trouble starting, but found I had to keep an eye on the diagonal shaft and push more fuel into the combustion zone. Once the fire was up to a good pace I filled a 3 liter aluminum pot with water and timed the time it would boil. Cook at room temperature for 30 minutes. Radiated heat was significant when within 18 inches of the chimney. Some ash will get into the pot if it is not covered. I'll keep experimenting but my first reaction is that this will suffice if no other heat source is available, but the Falcon probably won't be my first choice.
