100% cotton outer, soft and airy. And this white is so crispy! The design is cool. The weight is as expected with down. I usually use goose down, which has great load capacity. The apparent difference between this alternative down and real down doesn't bother me at all because I love how it looks and brightens up a room that unfortunately has very dark carpets (and because of all the previously mentioned benefits :). Also, this duvet seems to be a good option for the warm season as it is cooler than real down. UPDATE: You don't want to sit on it with your LDB. small white spots come off the terry cloth and you have to use a lint roller :) No big deal. Still worth it for me.
