I didn't really think of Monster as a legendary maker of quality cables and connectors. But I picked up the S310 because I wanted something really portable for my garden this summer. In fact, the comfortable bracelet caught my attention. I often go downstairs with grilled food or drinks and don't have a hand free for a Bluetooth speaker. So the carrying strap was a really useful feature. But I'm anticipating. I am very happy with this little speaker. Here are the highlights: 1) It connected to my phone right away. 2) It connects very quickly. 3) The sound quality is much better than I expected from such a small speaker system. It fills my garden with clear and rich sound. It stays clean almost at the top end of its volume range. The bass is really there, even in such a small speaker. Well, actually there are 2 drivers and a passive radiator. Of course, it's not a groundbreaking bass. It's just physically impossible for such a compact device, but the build quality is enough to bring the bass to the soundstage. The documentary states that Monster Audio legend Noel Lee personally designed and tuned this little man. A balanced and clear sound gives me no reason to doubt this statement. 4) Battery life is impressive so far. Once fully charged I used it for at least 12 hours (music, not standby) on a single charge at a reasonable volume. 5) The hands-free mode is actually quite good. I have another, more expensive, hands-free Bluetooth speaker, and my callers complain that I sound like I'm in the bathroom. I didn't have this experience with the S310. People could hear me and I wasn't embarrassed at all using it. 5) I have yet to test the water resistance. I'm just too scared to let good electronics get wet. It has a rubber gasket to protect the power connector and SD slot. 6) Oh yes, the SD card slot. This isn't a feature I would use, but I can definitely see how it could be useful. For example, you can download a card with children's music and let them enjoy it without using their phone or tablet. And if, heaven forbid, you're without WiFi or cellular signal, you can still enjoy dozens of hours of music. work as left and right channels, doubling your power. I can use that. 8) The only missing feature, and maybe I'm being old-fashioned, is the 3.5mm aux-in. I almost never use these old things, but I still find them comfortable. OK. While it's about the size of cheaper Bluetooth speakers, you really do get what you pay for with the Monster S310. It's a small but faithful audio companion.
