Review on Motorad 439 180 Thermostat by James Cowan

I have used this thermostat in the past and it worked as intended keeping the operating temp below 200 most of the time. There must be a problem with their production as it seems a lot of people are complaining about the thermostat not opening at 180. Such was the case with the one I bought and just returned. My finding was 208-210 on an Ultra gauge with the thermostat installed. Now I'm back down to 190-195 averaging and using a gray OEM Land Rover thermostat for warm climates. If you don't have an ultrameter, you probably won't notice.
