This is exactly what I had in mind for my granddaughter. She is approaching her first birthday and is busy learning how to sort and pack things. Cups and square cubes are fine, but they can be terribly slippery for little fingers. To me they look more like eggshells than balls and they fold just like eggshells. They easily fit together when stacked. As advertised they are soft, very chewy although a little large for a small mouth. The surface of each ball is "matte" rather than "glossy" so they are much less slippery than hard plastic blocks. Definitely a winner. Recommended for little fingers.
