Faster tire in dry to semi-hard conditions

I've been running Ritchey SpeedMax tires since the 90's. I ride aggressively off-road. They don't work as well in mud as you would expect from this tread pattern, but they work well in all other conditions. They're just as good in corners as anything else, as long as you're leaning the bike to hit the lugs when you're cornering aggressively. Keeping your torso perpendicular to the ground, push the bike down to lean it into a turn when turning aggressively. This gets you into bumps and also usually washes out the rear wheel first if you lose traction, which is a lot easier to fix than flushing the front. For a non-aggressive turn, just ride normally and let your body lean with the bike. When driven like this, these tires have excellent road holding but much lower rolling resistance than standard studded tires. They're best for paved trails, but don't need to be as hard as concrete. I've also found them to do well in loose sand as they float better on the surface where a lot of buds get stuck. I love her.
