Review on Lenovo ThinkPad Docking Station 40AJ0135US by Tyler Cooley

I am using this with an external TCL 4K@60Hz TV with HDR via the HDMI 2.0 port on the docking station. This is a great feature because the internal HDMI port on the X1 Carbon Gen 7 is only HDMI 1.4. The docking station's HDMI looks like DisplayPort Alternate Mode over Thunderbolt 3, so it's not limited to the laptop's actual HDMI hardware. I haven't tried it with multiple displays so can't judge. I would also like to say that in December 2019 I tried to get the HDMI port on the docking station to work at 4K/60Hz but failed and ended up using an active DP to HDMI 2.0 adapter got (but he does. I prefer the mechanical dock because it allows me to open my laptop and use it with my external display and then close it easily (you can also use the webcam on the laptop for a quick video conference without just buying an external one need to use it for the table).
