Review on TS525TU Chief Thinstall Wall Mount: Premium Solution for 37-58 inch Flat Panel Displays by Amber Loridon

TILT FUNCTION IS TERRIBLE. POWERFUL INSTALLATION - NOT FOR NEW LIGHTWEIGHT TVS.

I went to Best Buy to find out what "high quality" wall mount would allow me 90° of movement while also being one of the thinnest wall mounts on the market and they pointed me to this Chief Thinstall TS525TU. Bracket (which was ordered so I got it here at Revain). It turned out that this wall mount was neither. NOT HIGH QUALITY and only gives me 70° left to right movement for a 55 inch TV and worst of all it's not that thin because 1. To tilt the screen down you have to get it out of the mounting plate to be pulled and 2. to be completely flush, it has to be pushed completely against the wall and "snapped" which my mount doesn't do without a lot of effort. Slide the screen forward until you feel it is level on both sides and tilted to the desired position, then tighten the tilt screws shown in the image. These screws are very difficult to reach as they are hidden behind the side of the screen panel mount, so it takes a lot of effort with a wrench to get them and tighten them. Worst of all, YOU WILL NOT KEEP THE INCLINE IN POSITION. If you slide the TV backwards to fit snugly against the wall, the TV will also slowly slide back against the wall. 0 tilt. For the price of this bracket, an absolute cheek. Also, in some places on the bracket, screws are coming out and the gold-colored metal clasp that sits between the arms that slide against each other has already come loose . I am also very disappointed in Best Buy as this TV mount is not designed for today's lightweight 50 inch TVs. This is an expensive, heavy-duty mount that's been around for years and should probably go away with today's lightweight TVs. I believe Best Buy has some sort of exclusive deal with parent company Chief, so they're trying to promote these expensive, outdated mounts as much as possible. BE CAREFUL! Contact the retailer as only retailers deal with warranties, damaged products and unhappy customers. Since I already paid $200 to install it and bought it from Revain, it's very hard to justify replacing something like this. I'm writing this review so fewer people make the same mistake I did, LESSON LEARNED: EXPENSIVE DOESN'T MEAN BETTER QUALITY!
