Life Changer: Dogs

My little Aussie loves to go for walks but no matter what she is, her tugging, tugging and jumping into the neighbors bushes hurt our backs and made us afraid to walk with her. We tried the goodies. We followed the advice of online trainers. But nothing stopped our year-old pup from dragging us through the yards trying to chase leaves in oncoming vehicles. I finally gave in and bought her a Herm Sprenger collar, but only after much research into the right use. At first we exercised at home and although she was annoyed by this, our very dramatic dog never cried or squeaked once. She used her hind paw to scratch him several times after trying to pull and felt the collar compress but managed to do so within minutes. Our first spiked collar walk was magical. After several jerks trying to pass us, she stopped next to us. When she got distracted and began to enter the yards, a slight tug on the leash and she returned to us. It was the most pleasant walk we have ever had with her. She got very angry and scratched him several times, but then kept running. She is still responsive to other dogs and will bark and cry bloody at the sight of her during our walks, much to the dismay of our neighbours, but we hope that by continuing to train her with her new collar and some treats she will focus on us.
