I had an old start/stop switch that I removed from my previous router for use on the new one that worked but can with this new switch I better turn it off the router if need be, I don't have to look for the little button. The stop paddle is securely locked in place, so you must physically pull it back out to restart the router. While other reviewers have criticized this feature, I think it makes switching safer since the machine can't be accidentally turned on by touching the start button. The presence of an extension cord and plug (to the outlet) and socket (to the router) are already connected, which simplifies the connection.
