Review on Brother SA126 Narrow Foot Black by Jessica Lewis

great little hem foot.

Got this leg in the mail today and I love it. I experimented with a lot of the old 50's fouling presser feet so I learned how to use this great little presser foot. I have a Brothers CS6000 machine that I have used this leg on. This takes a little practice. But they are easy to use. It's a little difficult to get started. If you place the fabric under the foot about 1/8 inch from the back of this foot and sew 3-4 straight stitches. Then remove the fabric under the foot. that foot and pull the area you are handling towards the back of the foot. Lower your paw. Next time the hem starts to wrap, lower the needle into the fabric. Grab the hem with both hands, bring the outside edge of the hem to the right side of the foot strap, bring the folded part to the left side of the foot, this seam is even. Use a medium stitch length and if needed you can adjust the needle position to catch the selvage on the left side of the selvage for a nice even stitch. I occasionally use a little zigzag edge stitch with this little presser foot as well. Makes the edge look like a pearl. Edges on runners and pillowcases. It's not as difficult as any project you undertake, practice will bring you the best results. A NOTICE. Curved edges require a little more manipulation of the fabric used in the folds to get them right. I use this foot to clean the edges of ruffles before piecing them together. Makes a very nice little stitched hem.
