Excellent, even on the XR1300

use on the Brother XR1300 which this foot is *not* advertised for*. It does fit the machine, but I think because it doesn't line up properly with my machine's needle I can't get a good straight stitch that really catches the "spool". After a few trial runs with stitch 01 (slightly to the right) I noticed that it catches the caterpillar about 50% of the time and doesn't make a very secure seam. I tried stitch 43 but the stitch goes to the outer edge of the roll so that's not good either. I just…

  • Accurate measurement from the edge of the fabric
Cons
  • Not the best

Nice little tool but needs some skill

I've had this foot for about two years now and I have to say it's wonderful and a dream to see what it spits out! However, it does require some know-how on how to start the hem (see the Brother You Tube video which I found invaluable, not so much the included instructions) as well as a very steady footfeed to produce quality. Results. I have found that you can vary the width of the hem depending on how you start and serve it, but you are ultimately limited by the width of the forefoot otherwise

great little hem foot.

Got this leg in the mail today and I love it. I experimented with a lot of the old 50's fouling presser feet so I learned how to use this great little presser foot. I have a Brothers CS6000 machine that I have used this leg on. This takes a little practice. But they are easy to use. It's a little difficult to get started. If you place the fabric under the foot about 1/8 inch from the back of this foot and sew 3-4 straight stitches. Then remove the fabric under the foot. that foot and pull the…

Working but not perfect

Like others I had to go through a few tutorials and practice to master this foot. I don't actually consider this a "negative" because it happens every time you learn a new instrument! Even after 30+ years of sewing, I still look forward to putting the time and effort into learning a new foot because every foot is a new breed of animal! With this foot you can hem the fabric over the entire length. The first few inches just won't be right because this foot needs enough fabric to pull it out of…
