These have twine/burlap around the edges and the material isn't the softest but it isn't scratchy either. The burlap is a little rough, which you expect out of burlap. That is the reason I gave them a 4 for softness otherwise they would have received a 5 star. I purchased them for the burlap edge. It makes these look expensive. I hug one of them at night, and it doesn't bother me at all.I purchased the darker blue, and it looks just like it does online. These are not a dark navy but sort of remind me of the darker faded blue color of a pair of denim jeans. I hope that helps to describe the color accurately.These pillow covers look like they are made extremely well. The area where the zipper is placed has surged edges, so these shouldn't come apart in the wash. I cannot give it a 5 star for durability because I haven't washed them yet, but if the way they are made is an indication, I think they will hold up well.I am not sure if these will shrink, but I am actually hoping they will a little bit. I bought the largest 26x26 and the inserts that I purchased at Tuesday Morning are swallowed up by these pillow covers. I wish I would have gone down the next size, but I was worried that three of that size wouldn't go all the way across my king-size bed. The company on Ebay sells pillow inserts, but I couldn't find where they sell any larger than 20x20. I am thinking that I will need to buy an inexpensive egg crate mattress topper and cut it to size to fit inside to the corners along with using my pillow inserts. It will be worth it to have these sit correctly and prettily on my bed.I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered these, but I am very impressed by what I have received and for the value. I purchased 2 sets, so I have a total of 4. One is a backup just in case. I would purchase from this company again.
