The metal spacer is the floor spacer that sits on the base of the jug and the other is between the jug and the head
I have used these spacers and have had no problems with them being placed on a clean one and dry surface smooth and oil free and within the correct Tourqe specs they do the job. Note*** when I installed them on my 72cc big bore kit. It hasn't leaked since then, I don't think it's a gasket fault but the fact that I didn't have a wrench to install it properly until later**
