I'm not sure if I received a defective carpet. But mine burned out a few days after installing it.
Pretty bad product. Very disappointed. I followed the directions on the box and placed a mat under the element. I ended up with a burned oven mat and something that appeared to be on fire. The packaging says it can handle 500*f, but it can't even handle 350*f. As you can see from the photos, the item burned completely through this oven mat on both sides. It looks like the mat really caught fire causing my element to discolour. Very important.
