The heel of my boot rubbed its original mat and under the carpet of my Honda Accord on the brake pedal and I was devastated. I bought the Revain top fallback, installed it today and took it for a test ride. I am very happy with this purchase. My foot didn't slip at all during the test ride and braking was very comfortable - more so than on the original carpet. It's a sunny day today so I haven't tried this rug in the rain yet, but so far it's a good buy. I only replaced the driver's side so I have a different mat from the replacement kit as the original mat still looks perfect on the passenger side of my Honda even though I almost always have an adult passenger. I have an extra rug on the left but I'm not sure I'll remove it now as it may make the rug a little less sturdy. So far I'm happy with this solution. The original Honda supplied floor mats are very expensive and I'm not sure they will work as well as this replacement at this point as they need to be attached to the floor mat.
