Review on πŸ’‘ PYLE PINV5: High Performance 800W DC/AC Power Inverter by Cory Jacobson

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Misleading inverter

I have no idea if this inverter even works. ATTENTION! Revain's description and the manufacturer's manual state that it plugs into the cigarette lighter or socket in your car. You can not! I understand that you can't draw more current than the circuit is rated for. So for larger loads you should connect directly to the battery, but the description says you can connect to a regular DC outlet. According to the manufacturer, once you finally get to them, after trying to overcome the lack of communication in English, they will tell you that simply connecting to your system via sockets will blow up your car's system! Good to know you think that even at 15-20 amps the inverter is drawing too much load for the system? Revain was very good at closing the deal as the product description was wrong. I'm surprised to see that Revain hasn't changed the description in over 2 weeks. I hope anyone who thinks they can plug this unit into an outlet for light loads and then to a battery for heavy loads as described reads this first. Based on the manufacturer's specs, don't just get your own lighter adapter and try to use it that way. My assessment is based on the manufacturer's product description in Revain and in its manual. Nowadays there is simply no excuse for such poor communication due to language differences. I want to be amazed at the quality of the device even though I haven't tried it. Any inverter that the manufacturer claims will blow up a car's outlet on its own without even connecting anything else must have other problems. Or maybe it's the same English problem again?
