Disturbing odor

Look Good: From other reviews I knew the glass would not have a slight brown tinge as shown in the photos. I agreed because I still love the simple design and it goes with my glass candle jars which I have repurposed for decoration. It is beautiful and the brightness and dimming function is perfect. I took off 1 star for the condition of the product. There are these streaks or lines on one side of the glass that I first thought were broken glass. photo included. But it seems that the glass itself is simply imperfect. I didn't feel any cracks in the glass. On the same imperfect side there are 2 scratches along the side which I first thought were hardened salt particles but noticed they wouldn't move when rubbed off (I've tried a damp cloth and wind cloth). You can see in my photo it looks like a white crust on the right side, but those are scratches. I think at least I can position the imperfect side at the back so it's not visible. The downsides seem so much to flow from the production. It is not apparent that the damage was caused by transport. The packaging was very good and protective. Another 1 1/2 stars and my biggest concern is that it stinks when you turn it on! When turned on, the lamp smells like burnt chemical or rubber. It made my room smell like this and gave me a slight headache. I really hope that this smell will disappear over time and that nothing will burn! I have other salt lamps and none of them smelled like this, it's definitely not the smell of heated salt.
