I purchased this mascara after receiving a sample from Nordstrom. I liked the pattern, the shape and size of the brush was perfect, it caught all the lashes and covered them evenly and completely. When I got the full size version above, it was lumpy on the wrist and didn't wear long without getting in my eyes and staining. I liked the formula with the pattern but it seemed different or altered in the full size I ordered here. I don't know if the temperature of the mascara during shipping or storage can affect the formula, but it's possible. This is a great mascara though - lots of volume and definition yet feels soft and looks natural, not artificial. . I'm just not sure why it differs from the sample. The only real problem is smearing under the eyes after a few hours.
