Charging is normal, but the batteries are not.
The charger is fine. You can charge individual batteries. When you insert the battery, you will see an indicator light above each slot. Sometimes it doesn't work. I have to put the batteries back in to turn on the light. In addition, it charges very quickly. I've noticed that Eneloop batteries aren't as good as regular batteries. My electric toothbrush lacks power and torque. It also loses power quickly over several days. I suspect that all rechargeable batteries may not be as good as regular batteries.
